If an exchange account shows as offline in Pilotbot, the bot has temporarily lost its connection to that exchange and can't update those ads until it's restored. This is almost always about the API key, and it's quick to fix.

Why an Account Goes Offline

The most common reasons:

  • The API key was deleted or expired on the exchange side.
  • The key's permissions changed — for example, required permissions were switched off.
  • The IP restriction no longer matches — if the key is locked to specific IPs and those changed, the exchange rejects it.
  • A temporary connection blip with the exchange — these usually clear on their own within a short time.

A brief offline blip does not turn your ads off. Pilotbot is designed so that a short loss of connection does not disable your ads on the exchange — only you do that.

How to Reconnect

  1. Check the account's status in the sidebar — a warning marker means it needs attention.
  2. If it's a temporary blip, wait a few minutes; the connection often restores automatically.
  3. If it persists, the key likely needs replacing. Open Add Account, select the exchange tab, and enter a fresh API key (create a new one on the exchange following the Binance or Bybit guide).
  4. Make sure the new key has the correct permissions and the current Pilotbot IP addresses in its IP restriction.

When It's Not Your Account

A single account being offline is usually specific to that account's key or exchange link — it doesn't mean the whole platform is down. The rest of your accounts keep running normally.
