Strategy Presets Explained

The strategy presets the AI agent can use — Be the Leader, Follow Pack, Smart Merchant, Fortress, Human Imitation, Custom, and Spread — and when each one fits.

When you describe your goal, the AI agent picks a preset — a proven pattern of behaviour — and tunes its parameters to your situation. You don't have to choose one yourself, but it helps to know what they mean.

Be the Leader

Always holds first position in the order book, outpacing every competitor — while staying inside your safety corridor. Best when being seen first matters most and your margins allow it.

Follow Pack

Follows a maker or a group and holds position nearby rather than always being first. If there's one dominant maker it follows that leader; if there are several, it tracks the pack. A balanced choice that avoids unnecessary price wars.

Smart Merchant

Trades normally but ignores competitors and bots you've selected when working out your position. Useful when a few aggressive or obviously-automated ads would otherwise drag your pricing around.

Fortress

A defensive preset: when the market goes crazy, it freezes your price, pauses on a cooldown, and then resumes once things settle. Prioritises protection over chasing position during volatility.

Human Imitation

Makes your ad look like a live trader — natural pauses and human-style number rounding — without moving your price strategically. Good when you want a human feel layered on top of your own pricing.

Custom

Full manual intent. You describe the exact behaviour you want, and the agent derives the parameters from your description and locks them in. For traders who know precisely what they want.

Spread Strategy

Links two ads of the same pair — a buy and a sell — and keeps the spread between them within a defined corridor. Works within one exchange or across exchanges. For traders who earn from the gap between buying and selling.

How Presets Combine with "Skills"

Presets can be layered with skills such as anti-bot handling and anti-overheat protection, and some (like Smart Merchant and Fortress) have profiles — for example cautious / balanced / aggressive. The agent selects the right combination from your goal, so you get the behaviour you asked for without configuring the internals.
